Countdown to Launch! 🚀 We are just 2 days away now! Project Pi can’t wait to show off what we’ve been working on! #update

Big news for DeSo: Our Revolution Proof of Stake upgrade is going into testnet on 5/1, with a preliminary mainnet hard fork date of 5/22. In addition, we have some updates on staking DESO with Focus… Upgrade your testnet nodes by 5/1. If you’re running a node on testnet currently, you will need to upgrade to the latest v4 pre-release from here to keep your node operational: github.com/deso-protocol/… Running a validator. If you’d like to run a validator on testnet to get ready for our mainnet hard fork, we will have instructions for you on how to do that in the next few days. Running a validator allows you to produce blocks and earn staking commissions whenever someone stakes to your validator. Running a validator on DeSo is completely permissionless and can be done on commodity hardware. Why is Revolution awesome? Revolution Proof of Stake has been in development for years now, and it will upgrade the DeSo blockchain to support 500 posts per second (10% of Twitter-scale) with a 1-second confirmation time, and support for thousands of totally-permissionless validators. No other blockchain in the world can support the fully-decentralized storage and indexing of content the way DeSo can with Revolution. Revolution also introduces burn-maximizing fees and a state-of-the-art fee market that eliminates congestion issues like those seen on Solana. Unlike Solana, where 80% of transactions are canceled, Revolution smoothly adjusts fees to deter congestion, but with a much higher throughput than Ethereum for both smart contract and content storage use-cases. Learn more at revolution.deso.com. Staking your DESO. Revolution will launch with an initial staking APY of 20%, adjusted dynamically as more is staked to the network. Staking your DeSo is as easy as going to explorer.deso.com, which is where our validator hub will be hosted. Staking with Focus. Many are anticipating the launch of Focus, our next-generation SocialFi app, in June/July (see focus.xyz). Focus has already raised over $80M in DESO, and we plan on STAKING all of the DESO backing Focus so that holders of FOCUS tokens can get the benefits of DeSo staking as well. We will have an on-chain poll to approve this after the testnet phase of Revolution is complete. We have been working on Focus for almost two years now. It will be our first major consumer app launch since we launched BitClout in 2021, and we couldn’t be more excited for it. Our roadmap. Check out everything we’ve got in store in the coming months on our updated roadmap here: docs.deso.org/deso-roadmap Our team has been working diligently from 2019, through multiple bull and bear markets. With the launch of Revolution and Focus, we will see *years* of quiet but deliberate iteration and improvement finally go public. The rise of DeSo as a dominant player in the L1 space will seem sudden to everyone except those who have been paying attention.
