@ProfRobAnderson Excuse me—is that $850 for the whole class? Or per student? Because they would be very overpaid if you say it’s $850/kid.

How much do you tip your kid's elementary school homeroom teacher? Folks around here are saying the going rate is $850 for the homeroom teacher, maybe $150 for others (music, PE, art, etc.)

Proving again... that the judge has poor judgement. 😉 Everybody knows that they shouldn't follow illegal orders. The "reminder" was a sad attempt to undermine authority at a critical time. There's no room for protest in the military. That's a Liberal game for people who have nothing better to do... and won't get killed because of it. 🇺🇸✊

BREAKING: Fox News just reported that Pete Hegseth fired United States Secretary of the Navy John Phelan because Phelan would not ignore a federal judge's orders! "Hegseth and Phelan reportedly butted heads when Phelan refused to ignore a recent federal judge’s ruling that said punishing Senator Mark Kelly for making a video which he reminded military officers of their constitutional duty to not to not follow illegal orders would violate his First Amendment rights."

@nosecondwind @crochet_mom314 It's not even remotely the same. It's not like evolving legal precedent or new surgical techniques. Those build on what you learned in school or correct it. Collegiate Schools of Education are constantly chasing nonsense new "methodology." Honest teachers will tell you this.

As someone who got a teacher's certification alongside my degree in chemistry, the majority of you are ABSOLUTELY smart enough to homeschool your kids. The education classes I took were by far my easiest courses in college.

New England mastered the art of gerrymandering years ago The 6 states are 40% Red They have 33 seats between them So they have 13 Republicans, right? Wrong. They have 1. This is modern day taxation without representation coming full circle to the birthplace of the Revolution

@nosecondwind @crochet_mom314 You're making my point. The teaching certificate means nothing. Especially since most of what they teach in there is pop psychology garbage.

@BLeBlan68656830 @crochet_mom314 How valuable is any degree anyone got 20 years ago? Best practices change in every field. Don’t you expect your doctor, dentist, lawyer, accountant to keep up with their field?

@crochet_mom314 Also, the "best practices" in Education departments change about every 3 years, so...how valuable is the teaching certificate someone got 20 years ago?

@RacialFeminist @JMDucksworth Define masculinity. A man who sees the worth and value of others, who takes his role as head of household seriously, who sees kindness and fairness as strength, is a very masculine man. What do you consider masculine?

For real though, if you're a woman who naturally leans obedient and believes this is proper in the context of Christian marriage, you're better off with a man who leans a bit socially and theologically liberal than one who wants to display your marital submission like a trophy.

@JoeCunninghamSC I think people are more upset about the slim margin in the vote reducing representation from 6-5 to 10-1 - that is truly insane. It’s probably the second most aggressive redistricting done (the first being the democrats in district 12 NC in the 90s).

If you’re mad about Virginia, support a national gerrymandering ban. If you’re not willing to take map-drawing away from politicians in every state, you’re not mad about gerrymandering. You’re mad your side lost this round.

@dieworkwear @orangeregg The Mexican pizza coming back is one of the best things ever. I agree that one never knows when something wonderful is about to happen and why not be prepared to celebrate no matter the occasion . As my mother always said, “dress like you are going somewhere better later.”

@orangeregg I'm sorry to hear, but nothing in this thread is about death. This thread is about how to celebrate when you receive "The News" that "It" has finally happened, such as Taco Bell reintroducing its famous "Mexican Pizza." Lots of joyous moments can unexpectedly come up in life.

The selection committee either needs to admit that they need to look at the selection process or just come out and say that they only want high majors. VCU wasn’t even in the field without winning the A10 tourney. They just beat UNC. Add it to Miami (OH) and High Point already…

The Democrats just decided to officially become the party of PUNCHING PUPPIES. 190 Democrats just voted to give illegal immigrants the RIGHT TO PHYSICALLY ABUSE American service dogs — serving with law enforcement protecting American citizens. The level Democrats will go to protect illegal aliens instead of Americans is disturbing, disgusting, and dangerous.

@AnneAmbroseLMT @KurtSupeCPA Most of you commenting sound so incredibly entitled. This country has lost the concept of accountability. No wonder the “no contact” trend is off the charts—ya’ll talk like socialists. My parents (who struggled, by the way) gave me nothing. I expected nothing. I made my own way.

Kurt Supe, CPA & Retirement Planner
Couple comes in for their annual review. $2.8 million. Well invested. Solid Pension. Completely on track. I ask the question I ask everyone. "How is your daughter doing?" Mom's face changed first. Their daughter is 39. Hasn't asked for anything. Never complained. But she's been in the same apartment for six years. Daycare alone is $1,800 a month. Down payment feels impossible. Dad said "we always figured she'd get it eventually." I pulled up a simple chart. Statistically they live to 88. She inherits at 56. Maybe 60. At 60 her own retirement is eight years away. The money that could change everything at 39 arrives when her finish line is already close. Neither of them had ever seen it framed that way. The annual gift exclusion is $19,000 per parent per child. They can move $38,000 a year to her. No gift tax. No estate implications. Over ten years that's $380,000 transferred while they're healthy enough to watch it matter. Dad looked at his wife. "Why are we waiting?" Most families leave everything at death because nobody showed them the math of giving it while they're alive.
