@RAFHalton Could I get permission to use this photo (credited, obvs) in my 69th Entry archives nosher.net/content/raf69t…? It might not have any of the 69th in it, but it's definitely the right era!
Throwback Thursday!
A recent office move has brought to light a fantastic photo taken of the RAF Halton Accounts Flight taken in 1951.
70 years on and not to be outdone, the RAF Halton Accounts Flight of 2021 had their own pic taken to be kept for posterity.

@greateranglia Trainline and GA website show 16:30 LST-NOR as off peak, but GA site also says "Off-Peak:
Not to leave Liverpool St between 16:29-18:34". Which is right?
@greateranglia there's something metallic clanging loudly in the region of the interconnect between (outside) coaches 12081 and 12049 ("D" and, yes, "D") on 1P21 (0847 DIS-LST).
@greateranglia why is the 0847 DIS-LST now timed to arrive at 10:21, when four years ago it was 10:17? Is it like Ryanair, building in extra time so trains appear to be "on time" more often?
@greateranglia DVT locked pre-departure on the 1600 LST-DIS for the last two days. It's so annoying that this still happens. Also, I know they can't help but it's not a good look when catering staff sit in guard's office with their feet up texting someone, trying to ignore me
@greateranglia these are my cycle reservation tickets after just a few months of the new regime. It's trebled the number of tickets I get through in a week, so how many wasted tickets will there be after a few years? Is it really necessary? Is it really #sustainable?
@Ben_Morris1 I can't shake feeling that flying is being picked on bcoz it seems "middle class". Yes, per person it *is* bad, but overall only 3-5% of total carbon. Just watching one hour less TV per day would offset 1/70th of the UK's total aviation emissions
Carbon dioxide can be captured from the air and made into all sorts of useful products, including jet fuel. Too good to be true? Have a look at this from@annaholligan. bbc.co.uk/news/business-…
@greateranglia why aren't drivers allowed to unlock the DVT anymore, and why are conductors STILL leaving the DVT locked when the train terminates at LST? Is it all part of ramping up GA's anti-bike policy?
@greateranglia have I asked the conductors whether they're just following GA's increasingly anti-bike policies? Well, no :-) Some wait until bikes are out then lock up (grr), others don't open if there are no bikes. Most are ok though, but locked DVTs seem to be getting more common lately
@greateranglia 1P21 and 1P42 mostly. Been on 8 or 10 for the last eight years, but 12 or 13 for the last few weeks. Not exactly "end of the world" stuff, just curious (a bit Aspergers, so takes time to adapt to changes!)
Hi @greateranglia - is berthing the Norwich InterCities on weird platforms at the horrible end of Liverpool Street now the new norm? They seem to have been on 12 and 13 a lot lately :(
Hi @greateranglia - word on the street is that the 08:17 DIS-LST is now off peak. Is this true? Is it permanent or just some special limited-time offer?
@greateranglia 8:47 DIS-LST cancelled AGAIN, for (at least) the fifth time in a row. This is unprecedented. If this train is not coming back any time soon than GA seriously needs to consider making the 8:17 off peak so we can get to work in the morning
@greateranglia 8:47 DIS-LST is cancelled for the fourth time in a row. That's not simply bad luck but seems to indicate systemic lack of maintenance. Please could GA concentrate on maintaining existing stock instead of faffing with new trains which are already a year late
@greateranglia@greateranglia this isn't entirely flippant - the annoying fare structure means I have to get 08:47 in and 16:00 back (or b v late). Working in Paddington gives 4hrs in the office, so if 8:47 cancelled it's not worth going in. We should be able to do peak time when this happens!
@greateranglia that's now the 3rd time in a row my train has been cancelled: if GA isn't planning on running the 08:47 from Diss to LST any more, then could the 08:17 be made off-peak so at least I could get to work please?
@MidSuffolk what's going on with the bins this week? On Monday both bins were collected at the same time into the same vehicle, today another vehicle has turned up to find the bins mostly empty #bromeandoakley
@ConductorBlake I would recommend the ticket office - it's taken me up to 30 minutes before to do it over the phone. I commute every week and reserving is an absolute pain
