@tushar9590 In all seriousness, India cannot design chips except those manufactured 30 years ago.
English

India is Crude hungry, but do you know it is also chip hungry?
In fact After Crude and Gold, Semiconductor chips is the largest imported item in India.
Nearly 25-28 billion$ import bill for India is for IC chips given the way electronic sector is scaling up in India.
& Over 30% of our chip demand is met by China, followed by Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, and a growing share from the US.
The heavy import dependence is exactly why the government launched the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) in 2021 with USD 10 billion in incentives (50% of project cost under PLI + Design Linked Incentive schemes).
The goal: build a full ecosystem (design → fabrication → packaging) and reduce import reliance.
It becomes more important now to bring a check on import bill since AI has led to increase in memory chip prices due to endless demand, making chip suppliers to produce more of high margin memory chips and restricting the supply of everyday IC chips going into consumer electronics, automobiles & other sectors(where India is initially focusing on).
