Starting a new life in Canada can feel both exciting and overwhelming. If you’re a newcomer already here, you may be worrying about housing, work, or learning a new language, and all of these changes can affect your mental health. It’s OK to feel stressed and unsure sometimes. In Canada, 1 in 2 people will experience mental health challenges at some point, and it’s OK to talk about it. Here are some ways to support your mental health as you settle into Canada: ☑️ Share how you’re feeling with someone you trust. ☑️ Spend time outside, even if it’s a short walk. ☑️ Ask for help when you need it—there’s no shame in it. New Year’s Day is celebrated on January 1 and is a federal statutory holiday in Canada. Most government offices and many businesses are closed. It marks the start of the new calendar year and is commonly celebrated with gatherings, countdowns, and community events!

The PASS Program will be closed for the holiday season starting December 25 and will re-open on January 5, 2026. New participants can continue to register during the break, and we’ll be back in the New Year with new nursing webinars to support your journey. Wishing you a happy and safe holiday season!
