Karnataka DCM @DKShivakumar said KSCA will provide 3 free IPL tickets per MLA & 2 for international matches, with an option to purchase 2 more. The decision followed talks with KSCA, DNA and RCB. MLAs can opt out in writing; no one is being compelled. “I also spoke with officials from Rajasthan, Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, and Gujarat -about 50-60% of tickets there are distributed to government officials & related groups. Compared to them, our level of interference is far less.” He also asked KSCA to submit a proposal to increase stadium capacity by 20,000 seats & explore land for a new stadium. He added govt is planning a stadium at Suryanagar & will not excessively interfere in KSCA affairs.

I want to point something out. In the above post, I pointed out two facts. Fact 1: value of the rupee in May 2014. Fact 2: value of the rupee today. That’s all I did. I didn’t say if it was good or bad. I didn’t blame anyone. I didn’t offer any condemnation or explanation. Now look at the responses. It is very clear that even stating facts without any context makes the RW deeply uncomfortable and outraged. Why is this? It has a lot to do with cult behavior and confirmation biases. People in cults don’t like their worldview being challenged. They are on edge constantly if facts are stated that may interfere with that worldview. This is why people who disagree or interrogate are often cast out of cults and ostracized because the basic beliefs of a cult structure should never be challenged. When I see the responses I see people whose minds have been brainwashed to such an extent that they cannot even accept two facts that cannot be called a lie. They will fight to maintain that confirmation bias - everything has to fit into the cult structure. They turn that rage outward because their core belief is under threat. Here that core belief is that India is a shining superpower because of one person and he must be held in great regard, almost to the point of worship. Saying anything that even mildly points out anything to the contrary, will alter that core belief. So we must do more of it. The truth will always find a way into the light.

The Elphinstone Bridge mismanagement saga continues! After shutting it down on 13 September 2025, @MMRDAOfficial promised a swift completion of demolition so the Worli-Sewri Elevated Connector could be completed (two years after its original opening date of early 2023). Four months after the bridge was shut, in January, a disagreement over the number of hours required led to cancellation of a mega block. Two weeks ago, a crane glitch was blamed. On Friday, demolition of Haji Noorani Chawl and Laxmi Niwas began, but there’s still no date in sight for railway shutdowns that will allow the bridge to be dismantled! To add insult to injury, while this delay goes on, Sion Bridge and Parel TT Northbound Bridge are also shut down simultaneously - creating traffic jams of epic proportions. The project deadline for Elphinstone Bridge keeps shifting - from August to September to December 2026. Will contractors be held liable for the delay? Or MMRDA? Or the Railways? Or will the buck be passed round and round - and the only one paying the price will be ordinary Mumbaikars?
