Hot take but I actually hate seeing a thousand content creators get another 4-5000 Hercules bundle for free and early right after they got Heelys, the Rivian, GoT and the Looney Tunes bundle this fucking week. When a 1000 Epic employees got laid off cause they’re out of money?

Took me a bit longer than I’d like to admit but I did it for the pickaxe that should’ve been in that music pass to begin with. I love when the “Flawless” text lines up almost perfectly with the Victory Royale and I really should use more cosmetics more often 😎 #FortniteShowdown

@giovauefn @KiriBuilds UEFN shouldn't have released with the (lack of) features it has. 90% of maps add no value. Epic needs to find a way to get ROI on UEFN payouts, cause loosely basing payout on engagement and interaction with the item shop is not a good metric. It hurts to see where money is going.

1. The 16% earning is an estimate that's probably close to accurate. 40% of 40% is 16% and uefn share of the player count is basically never less than 40%. 2. UEFN is a tool that's still evolving. It's far from being good and the lack of good games in it is pretty normal right now. It's simply not good enough YET. 3. Without uefn, players wouldn't just go to play Epic's modes, many of them will quit, there are already a ton of players who only open Fortnite for uefn maps, so, indeed, it makes Epic money by keeping players stick to Fortnite That said, a lot of money have gone to the wrong creators, I think we can all agree on this. But the solution isn't to remove uefn maps, that would easily kill the game, instead, it's to hold tight while the tools improve, so creators can make better games. And, most importantly, start being more severe with bad actors, because a lot of money were wasted into people using the platform just for money.

Epic makes 100 billion. 60 billion to Epic, 40 billion to UEFN. UEFN makes them NO MONEY. Item shop makes them money. Item shop paid salaries of Epic employees, but now also pays UEFN freelancers. 40% less money for Epic employees, means less Epic employees.

Hot take but also a suggestion for @TimSweeneyEpic @Fortnite: If you’re so insistent on making collabs a bigger part of Fortnite and wanna “pay the bills” try collabing with things from other countries as well not just US/English based things and animes. There’s plenty of things you can do.

@VampNyne I’ll be honest. If Fortnite is so dead set on becoming a metaverse platform, more shooter modes is the last thing we need. We need racing, fighting, beat em up, sports and platform games. They need to implement mechanics to support all of these game types.

Boycotting UEFN maps accomplishes two things: - it shows Tim Sweeney we don’t care about his metaverse - it ensures every penny made goes to actual Epic employees - actually it would also clean up the lobby screen which looks like a mess now and probably would speed up the lobby

These layoffs should not have happened. Tim Sweeney should’ve pulled the plug on UEFN payouts after the first round of layoffs clearly showed this shit wasn’t going anywhere viable. Question is how stubborn he actually is and if he’s going all in or sees the light in time.

In the coming days, employers will see a stream of resumes of once-in-a-lifetime quality folks. An important thing to understand is that Epic never lowered our hiring standards as we grew, and the layoff wasn't a performance-based "rightsizing" as companies call it nowadays. It's a sound bet that anyone with Epic Games on their resume is in the top few percent of their discipline.

I am still having trouble processing everything that happened yesterday. It is unbelievable, and yet this is unfortunately the reality we live in. With so many key people laid off from Epic yesterday, it’s hard to envision a bright future for this game at all. I also just don’t know how to move forward right now with this game. I don’t want to support it at all. I have no motivation to play at all. And it’s just so sad because it was said this was going to be one of the greatest seasons of all time, story looked incredibly promising and everything had to fall apart yesterday because Tim Sweeney doesn’t know how to manage his money. We aren’t even a week into this season. On one side I do want to support all the work that was put into this season by the hard working employees by playing, but on the other side I just can’t bring myself to it. It feels very wrong. Especially knowing that a lot of those employees who worked on this season were laid off. I don’t even know how to move forward content wise either. For now I think I’m putting all my planned content on hold while I just figure out what to do next. However, I think I will be making a video about all of this. What Tim has done to this game for the past four years is awful and this entire situation needs to be given more attention. These are just all my thoughts now, they can change later but that’s kind of it. Whoever read this far, I hope you have a great rest of your day. ❤️
