@m21original @PhilJonesy3 Had to rewind that bit to check I'd heard it right. 🤦♂️

@tompeck I’m 50.
There have been 12 PM’s in my lifetime.
Half of them in the first 42 years, and the other half in the past 8 years.
That’s insane.

@pressgazette Such a bad decision. @BBCHARDtalk is the only news programme left worth listening to on the BBC. This great institution is falling to bits.

The BBC plans to make a net reduction of 130 roles in its news and current affairs department, ending interview programme Hardtalk and the Asian Network’s bespoke news service as part of a £24m cost-cutting drive

@stephensackur Bad decision by @BBCNews to axe its most in-depth, balanced, and informative news programme - the only one worth watching in my opinion. I'm sure an exciting new venture will find you and we will all be watching. Good luck.

THREAD:
1. PERSONAL NEWS:
Today BBC News has announced plans to close @BBCHARDtalk after 3 decades holding the world’s politicians and powerbrokers to account. This is sad news for me personally, but much more important, I think it’s depressing news for the BBC🧵

@TataCompanies An inspiration and proof that you can be both an excellent business man and an excellent human being. Sincere condolences to his loved ones. RIP.

@walkhighlands We're all coming with you (where are you mainly going to be?)

@Care2much18 A hard read, despite being beautifully written. Thank you for telling her story and keeping the memory of her immense achievements alive. I hope the coach learned his lesson and refused to push anymore children to their death.
English

@thecarolemalone I'm so disappointed. You're a journalist. You're supposed to report facts. This is utter baloney and - almost worse - you know it. You know you're writing bollocks and you still write it. 😩

Extraordinary discovery...and more than ever means a moratorium on sea bed mining, surely. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

@SarahScb @Bob_Fischer @TibsGTE My dad's credit card was blocked due to a fraud marker. He had to fill in an online form to unblock his card. He couldn't do it. We phoned. They directed us to another form which had irrelevant tick boxes. After 4 hours, I rang and cancelled his account. (I manage websites...!)
English

@Bob_Fischer @TibsGTE Absolutely this for my parents. My dad is pretty good internet wise, but they are very cautious about banking apps, though all branches have closed, and they don’t travel into Bristol anymore because they worry that they’ll need a parking app.

1. I know your mum had so many illegitimate children that it’s probably easiest to assume everyone you meet is a relation, but for clarity - I am not your brother.
2. Reading your attempt at a proper sentence, I wonder if you should be sticking to picture-based apps? #insta

@JamesBlunt Bro you never were a star.
