I was sat watching in The Old Cottage pub in Cardiff. It was all anyone wanted to talk about for the next week. A free-kick that will never be bettered. Still looks scientifically impossible.

Surely the most famous free-kick of all time?! I remember being sat in my parents’ living room, enjoying Le Tournoi on 03/06/1997, when Brazil’s left-back, Roberto Carlos, took his time to carefully place the ball. It was a mile out. He can’t shoot from there! Can he? 😉 Nearly 30 years later, I still can’t quite believe what happened next.
