@M4_Mazhae Agreed, even with that it’s still a dupe. Until the branding comes into play. Which is crazy. I def think Zara is one of the companies that changed how dupes dupe.

@plugyuri I blame Fast fashion. They blurred the lines between the two. A dupe used to be noticeably different, heavily inspired, and released a season or two after not during. Now they make identical copies w/o the designer name which is pointless if it does not have logos, or branding.

Yuri here* Dupe and Replica do not mean the same thing. A dupe is inspired piece by the designer not an exact replica, looks similar but doesn’t pretend to be the brand. IE a bag having Chanel brand or logo. Replica is meant to replicate the designer item exactly how it is.

@2000sphase Can’t argue with Webster, but I would not use those words interchangeably because they mean different things. A dupe and replica maybe related but in the context we are using them in they are different.
