i wanna make stories that don't make any assumptions about people's circumstances and agency in reaching a happy ending. i want to assume the worst - the absolute worst - and write about what kinds understanding that can be found even in spite of that.

i'm read enough narratives about people able to overcome trauma, find catharsis, and self-actualize. i want to write about what it's like to have no hope, to be in a place where it's already too late, and the ways individuals can respond to having no future.

somebody asked me who my writing is supposed to be for recently. to be honest, i don't think i completely understood myself until i got really sick a couple years ago. here's my pretentious answer: i want to write stories for people who are trapped.

i finally got around to playing pentiment a bit and as much as i'm enjoying it it kinda makes me wish western games that are effectively vns would adopt some standard vn qol features... the inability to backread is painful, especially with no manual saving
