All metaphysics ultimately constitutes a structure concerned with the best way of ordering the chaos of existence as such. It is the configuration of a particular universe, a cosmos. Within this reflection on the order of the cosmos, a myth is established, and beyond that myth, a cosmogony, the genesis of that particular universe. It is at this cosmogonic level that it becomes possible to elaborate a narrative, what, in the formulation of Plato, as expressed in the Timaeus, may be understood as "eikos mythos", a likely story capable of gathering dispersed elements into a coherent whole. We live in a time in which dispersion is intensifying, one might even say accelerating, and in which epistemological hierarchies are collapsing. To reassemble what has been dispersed, it will be necessary either to create a new narrative capable of integrating it, or to recover the ancient cosmogonic narratives. There is no other way.
