This ended up worse than I thought. Over 40% of people who responded work at places where less than 10% of the company uses their own product daily. ngmi My dogfooding non-negotiables: - everyone has a production account, use it in “real life” scenarios - leaders MUST actually use the product on a regular basis - everyone on the team should be able to do a basic demo - PM/EM/Design leads cannot source testing to engineers, they must also go end to end through new products personally - have an opinion on the product, share it - no one gets excused by “I’m not the target user” - If you PM a dev tool, code is the product so you better learn to write code if you don’t already - dogfood the whole service, including support, customer success, activation emails, docs, etc. - come at everything with a unforgiving newbie eye, not your jaded expert eye - if you’re paying for a competitor…yikes! - but if you haven’t used your competitor’s product deeply (presuming you can)…yikes! Too many teams treat their products like they’re theoretical, whatever is in a deck or on the website is enough to do the job. But dogfooding is life. Everyone should be doing it. Leaders should be demonstrating it. Why aren’t you?

I am legitimately THE laziest when it comes to AI tools. I haven't fully set up Devin's environment. I don't use .cursorrules (don't tell on me.) I just toss typo ridden casual instructions into lightly contexted tools, pair program when necessary, and ship stuff users want 🤷‍♀️

@clairevo Interesting! Website says it’s $500/month. 😬 Is this what you are working with? Or is there a cheaper plan I’m not seeing rn?

Despite this, Devin is the steal of the century. 5 PRs done before noon yesterday on crap I had been avoiding. Good citizen and cleans up code as it goes. Just sometimes bounces without submitting PTO kind of like real jr SWEs. Maybe intentional to drive authenticity 🤷🏻‍♀️

I'd be really interested in seeing more of the trial data and I really hope that the raw data will be released at some point. I'm afraid that the participant selection/ grouping, trial design and endpoint measurements played a part in the for me unexpected negative outcome /33

EU Regulations Force Zwickau Energy Provider to Dismantle local EV Charging Network 🤯 • Zwickauer Energieversorgung (ZEV) must cease operating its EV charging stations due to new EU regulations • 18 charging points affected (2 fast-charging and 16 standard charging points) • ZEV is in talks with potential operators to maintain some charging locations • Changes stem from EU directive aimed at promoting competition and ensuring network operator independence The Zwickau Energy Supply (ZEV) is being forced to dismantle its electric vehicle charging infrastructure due to new EU regulations implemented through German energy law. The company must remove 18 charging points across Zwickau, including recently upgraded locations. The regulation prohibits network operators from providing public charging infrastructure unless they separate their grid operations into a subsidiary company. ZEV's Commercial Director Dominik Wirth expressed regret about the situation but assured that Zwickau's charging infrastructure remains above average. The company is currently negotiating with potential operators to maintain some charging locations. @TAG24_NEWS @electricfelix @Wissing

@jcsrb If there is nothing else to complain about I’d say having the power button as main critique point of a product overhaul is a good outcome no?

2 takes on the new Mac minis I see over and over on social media: Q: why not get a N100 based mini PC for $200? A: check some benchmarks, then choose what fits your use case Q: why is the power button at the bottom? A: it doesn't matter, people don't shut down their computers

Throwback to the weekend in 2014 when @LarsFronius, sktt (GH), and I hacked together this live dashboard for @EyeEm inspired by Norse Live Attack Map and we had to shut the office TV down, because the live photo feed didn't have a nudity filter yet. 🍆😂

@electricfelix I’d assume Miles and the others have custom pricing and deals with the charging providers. Some car sharing cars are plugged in for days. But ya. Berlin is empty right now. And German prices are odd.

Here are two "brand new" AC chargers, in Berlin, where I'm spending the week. Walking and biking around town, this is what is most evident: most chargers are simply empty, aka nobody there. (My dad even mentioned he didn't spot chargers at all, he didn't even notice his son taking all these pics ;-)) Others are blocked (ICEd if you wish) and a third category would be people charging or in case of shared vehicles: they charged at some point. Books could be written about Berlin and its mobility choices, being a frequent visitor of both Paris and Berlin, one cannot unsee the fact improvements to cities can be made. Yet it's mostly not happening, here in Deutschland. Painful? But back to the topic: charging. Berlin doesn't like EVs. Most shared vehicles (and there are PLENTY) are EVs you could argue, yet I'm talking about bikes and scooters (both mopeds and "trottinettes"). The shared carfleet is hard to look at. Berlin is where I learned more about carsharing than in any other city on earth. Yet except for some "excuse vehicles", most cars are just boring fossils, today (!). Especially with all the new chargers going in, one can only hope for improvement. Here comes the kicker. It's questionable if the operators of these shared vehicles, could call going electric an improvement. Filling up these vehicles at 55 ct/kWh and then "blocking tariffs" for the other part of the battery, it's completely realistic to operate a petrol or diesel car here at lower prices per mile than a Full BEV. It's hard to see how anyone in Berlin would be inclined to go electric. Do you have an idea what will happen next? #alwaysbecharging #BEV #transition #deutschland #infrastructure #mobility #sharedmobility

Great to see AWS finally taking care of us Germans and our quirks in regards to payments... aws.amazon.com/about-aws/what… Only half serious, but looking forward to paying my cloud provider in cash next? 😬

Was bringt die Diagnose?
