NEWS: Merrimack coach Joe Gallo has agreed a new 10-year contract to remain with the Warriors through 2035, sources told me and @PeteThamel. Gallo guided the program through its transition to Division I in 2019 and has won three league titles in six years at the D-I level.

@RepNickBoldyga Hey Nick, we passed a comprehensive health care bill. Leader Jones was very involved. There were a lot of us working late. Dems and Republicans. Maybe you and Marc Lombardo should show up at the State House some day. It IS where you both work.

So apparently, last night the legislature was toiling under the cover of darkness into the early hours of this very morning. We received no notice from the House Minority Leader that he was indeed going to conspire with the Democrats and pass over 90 pieces of legislation! Yes, 90. There's a peculiar phenomenon at state houses, when midnight strikes and suddenly, the only bills that seem to pass are the ones you'd rather see consigned to the depths of legislative purgatory. It's as if the witching hour casts a spell of mischief, turning well-meaning lawmakers into sleep-deprived gremlins eager to approve laws that, come morning, would make even the most jaded cynic cringe. Suddenly, bills that would ban the color blue on Tuesdays or mandate that all squirrels must wear tiny hats for tax purposes breeze through with nary a second thought. It's the time when common sense takes a coffee break, and the most dubious, head-scratching legislation finds its moment to shine, or rather, to skulk into existence under the cover of night. Here's a couple of photos that managed to emerge from the "lightly attended" session. Several names have been redacted for their protection. Republicans have a chance for major reform this week. We can finally put an end to these Midnight sessions. @DaveBurnes18 ..he is. And most people don’t know he’s one of the winningest High School Basketball coaches in Massachusetts high school history. He won over 500 games in Basketball. No one better.

Just a thought..Watching the Massachusetts high school Superbowl games on TV 38. Got to give John Dibiaso, HC of Catholic Memorial lots of credit. For years he’s been delivering what a coach/mentor should do. Create opportunities for kids who have athletic ability to get a good college education via sport and potentially a scholarship playing the game.,Even if they don’t get a scholarship, they get to play the game and be a part of a team with routines and discipline which gives them a foundation and leadership skills to be successful. I can think of so many others like him and enjoy seeing these men and woman help shape young student/athletes lives. Just thought it should be noted

@DaveBurnes18 You are absolutely right. He’s done more for kids than anyone will ever know. Forget all the D1/NFL kids he’s coached. He’s helped so many get into NESCAC schools and other great educational opportunities. Should be a 30/30 on him and people would realize how good of a person…

I want to thank @repjohnlawn for his tireless work on this legislation, as well as all my colleagues in the House for recognizing the need for action on this important issue.

Critically, this legislation also builds on the four major health care bills that the House has already passed this session, all of which are focused on increasing access to quality, affordable health care for folks across the Commonwealth.

Today, the House passed legislation that aims to reduce the out-of-pocket cost of certain life saving prescription drugs, and that bans certain business practices that are commonly used by pharmacy benefit managers to increase their own profits at the expense of patients.
