The Supreme Court of the United States gave clear and exclusive jurisdiction to regulate sports betting. The States created the Federal Government, not the other way around.

The @CFTC has clear and longstanding exclusive jurisdiction to regulate prediction markets. But recently, state regulators have tried to impose inconsistent and contrary obligations on CFTC-registered prediction markets. Good for Arizona. These entities are clearly usurping the rights of states to regulate, or choose to not allow, sports betting in their states. The Supreme Court was perfectly clear on this issue, as is the 10th Amendment.

Mike, I appreciate you attempting this with a straight face, but I don’t remember the CFTC having authority over the “derivative market” of LeBron James rebounds. These prediction markets you are breathlessly defending are gambling—pure and simple. They are destroying the lives of families and countless Americans, especially young men. They have no place in Utah. Let me be clear, I will use every resource within my disposal as governor of the sovereign state of Utah, and under the Constitution of the United States to beat you in court.
