@rewindbitcoin @landabaso @giacomozucco @justinmoon Thanks🙂 So the idea is that, as soon as the attacker understands that he needs to wait for a long time to pull off the crime, he is discouraged to do it, right? I guess that happens when he sees the freeze time on the app interface, or when he sees the vault onchain.

Soft fork elevator pitches SegWit: "Free, instant payments for everyone" - Fantastic pitch - Over-sold it a tad ... Taproot: "Marginally better on-chain privacy" - Terrible pitch Covenants: ========= "Scale ownership like SegWit scaled off-chain payments" - Not compelling. UTXO supply vastly exceeds demand. Economic actors don't have this problem. "Lots of research projects need it like Ark, etc" - Not compelling. Most people don't pay attention to these research projects, and over-selling lightning didn't help. "Foolproof self-custody with vaults" - Great pitch - Self-custody is scary. Every HODLer has constant background stress about having coins stolen. - Institutional custody is centralizing at Coinbase. - Economic actors have this problem
