The deposit of faith is always safe in the Roman Catholic Church. No matter how progressive or absurd a pope, bishop, priest or deacon may be, the Eucharist, the liturgy, the mass, the doctrine and the deposit of faith is always safe and protected by Christ promise and the magisterium. Despite how weak or foolish Peter and all his successors may have been, the deposit of faith and the church are safe and protected by Christ’ promise that the gates of hell will never prevail. This is not true of the Protestant Churches. There is no single shared doctrine, form, structure, service or deposit of faith preserved through time. Even the Scriptures the Protestant’s claim as their foundation are an artifact of the Catholic Church; protected. preserved, and canonized by the Catholic Church at the council of Rome in 382. From the beginning, before the scriptures were gathered together in the 3rd century and affirmed in the fourth century, there was the Eucharist and the Mass.

@Kudzu_XX @CarriePrejean1 The Anglican Church has modified and corrupted its doctrine. The church is nothing like how it originated. Also, the clergy do not have valid claim to apostolic succession and therefore they don’t have the authority to perform transubstantiation.

Mocking the Pope while reading a Bible canonized by the Catholic Church is ignorance and delusion. Protestantism took the Church’s Bible, rejected the Church’s authority, and fractured into thousands of man-made interpretations. That’s what happens when everyone becomes their own Pope. @rexomus47 @w_terrence Why do insist it must be one or the other? He can simply not comment if he finds the defense of a society under a murderous theocratic regime untasteful. Not to mention the defense of persecuted Christians throughout the Middle East. Enough with the martyrdom. Defend life.

The Pope meets with many people. A meeting with the Pope doesn't automatically mean he is drafting a malicious plot. Even it did, what would it mean in the ultimate plan of God? Nothing. The church is protected from heresy by the Divine promise of Jesus. She will be with us until the end of the age and the gates of hell shall never prevail. Keep your faith in God, not politics. At judgement day you, along with everyone else, will be standing before God giving testimony to your faith and deeds.
