A few thoughts on some of the players from a week commentating at the 175 Dominican Republic Challenger 🧵🎾

Curious what the ceiling will be for Valetin Royer. Effective first serve and a pretty good forehand. Moves very well and his shot tolerance/athleticism was too much for a 37-year-old Roberto Bautista Agut.

His serve, forehand and timing looked good. Wouldn’t be surprised if he got back into the top 75 and maybe top 50 if he can stay healthy.

@DoctaKnow @_claymagazine He got the first time violation warning when he wasn't ready to start the game and Navone was. Picked up the second violation when he claimed a phone was ringing and the chair umpire said he wasn't ready even prior to the phone making noise.

Drama in Cap Cana. – Bellucci gets his 2nd time violation. – Complains to the chair umpire about a phone ringing in the stands. – Play is stopped. The supervisor is called. His protest is dismissed. – He saves two set points, but Navone eventually breaks and takes the lead 6-5. -game gets suspended due to high temperatures. Navone is the one that complains now.
