I have spent this year fully and without reserve knowing that every breath is sacred and each day is unguarded. I have saved those older than me and lost many younger. At the pale, they never regret life’s adventures , and wish only more breath to say goodbye to lost love.

I looked into the room to see him pacing around the bed, guarding her. She was pale, and if not for the monitors I would have been worried she wasn’t breathing. My colleague had admitted her to the ICU in the early hours of the day.

Same … I would like to believe all the vitriol and rage is coming from misunderstanding. Safe spaces are where those in danger seek them out. This level of hate only reaffirms the need for them.

So keep calling me a "groomer" and "pedo" all you want. That doesn't change the law. If an adolescent tells me they don't feel safe expressing their name or pronouns to their parents, then I can't (and I won't) tell their parents. Doctors offices should always be safe spaces 🌈

Feeling helpless at 4 AM in the ER amidst a crumbling system, staring at 40 patients in my waiting room I’m unable to see, as my beds are full of sick patients waiting to go upstairs to a full hospital.

It was great to visit with Dr. Rob Roth, President of the College of Naturopathic Doctors of Alberta, to discuss the role they play in primary care. People visit naturopathic practitioners for various health-related purposes, including primary care, overall well-being, and treatment of illnesses.

I had a ridiculous night on call. My poor resident was exhausted, so I sent them home, it was the humane thing. Despite the sleep deprivation and desire to get home too I gladly met with my patient’s families, because they deserved it & I already had a plan to recharge my soul.

I remember being screamed at by the husband of an unvaccinated woman who was dying in the ICU from COVID pneumonia. They had strong immune systems.
