@SteveMc74806767 @DiscipleFidei Christ cleans the temple court claiming it as “His Father’s House”; His atonement splits the veil permitting all to approach the Father, not just the High Priests; Christ says He comes not to destroy but to”fulfill” or “make complete” that law which was given (by Him to Moses)…

@DiscipleFidei What the Latter Day Saints church restored was all those things Jesus sacrifice made obsolete. The priesthood, temple worship, the temple tax, ordinances, covenant and law keeping. These things were but shadows that were fulfilled in Christ.

Mormons rebuilt the Jewish law and the Jewish temple. (Or they try to) “For if I rebuild what I have once destroyed, I prove myself to be a transgressor. For through the Law I died to the Law, so that I might live to God.” Galatians 2:18-19

@mfreivald It’s primarily because most LDS are ashamed to stand apart from conventional Christianity. They desperately wish to be socially included rather than remain a “peculiar people.”

The Mormons/LDS are constantly vilifying Christians as "gatekeepers" because we objectively know they are not Christians. Here's the thing. If we are "gatekeeping" by identifying true Christians, then they are gatekeeping by identifying true Mormons/LDS--so if they don't want to be hypocrites, they must claim that everyone on earth is a Mormon/LDS. And that would be silly--not to mention it would be a stark example of how they frequently stretch meaning until it is meaningless.

@DavoustBaldPate Plumb is a grotesque self-appointed representative of the Lord’s Church. He’s blocked by many; sadly, not enough it seems. Apologies for your run-in with him. He’s a buffoon.

This was a first. A Utard Mormon argues that Jesus' body 'dissolved into dust' and was resurrected as 'spirit matter'. This is a Jehova's Witness belief. Weird. Mormons are not sending their best. Mormons are not Christians.

This is probably the 50th Mormon who has said some form of “what do you think we do all eternity, sit on a cloud and play a harp?” Is this what they teach in Mormon seminary? Is there a class you take, that says Christians believe in sitting on clouds and playing harps? Crazy
Dr Manhattva@Manhattva

@HollandGreig @rustymuscle1969 That sounds like you’re underestimating the power of Jesus Christ. If you are joint errors with him, what does it exactly do you think you’re going to be doing for eternity? Nobody knows the details, but I assure you that it does not involve sitting on clouds playing a harp.

@StrykerStryker5 @DiscipleFidei The Council of 50 wasn’t secret. The Nauvoo congregation openly sustained them. And yes, Joseph was appointed king of God’s Kingdom here on earth but it was a stewardship until Christ returned. But no, there was no record of a secret war or anything remotely close to your claim.

@rustymuscle1969 @DiscipleFidei Joseph Smith was appointed KING OF GOD’S KINGDOM ON EARTH and the secret council of 50 plotted to start a war and implement Joseph as president. They needed the natives for the war but planned to eradicate them by breeding them into extinction.

According to Mormon theology, unless a person is properly baptized by someone who has the authority to baptize, that person is improperly baptized and that baptism is of no effect. The person who is improperly baptized, we are told, remains unsaved. So, Joseph Smith—who had not yet been baptized by someone who had the proper authority—had no authority himself to baptize Oliver Cowdery. And Cowdery—thus improperly baptized—subsequently went on to improperly baptize Joseph Smith.
Thoughtful-Faith@ThoughtfulSaint

Your baptism is not valid unless it is done by someone acting under apostolic keys. You are super close to being a Latter-day Saint. If you love Jesus and want to help us build his kingdom come and be baptized and enter into a binding covenant relationship with him and become part of the modern house of Israel, his people, his church.

@Salt_n_Smoke Because the role of Satan was a divine calling. Lucifer is no match for God or even Christ. He wields no power or influence that wasn’t permitted by and assigned from God. The devil is controlled opposition designed to weed out the weakest of mankind.

youtu.be/6ZsnZCOGtyU?si… According to LDS theology, Satan was present in the premortal existence and was aware of God’s plan, including the necessity of mortal bodies for human progression (cf. Abraham 3; Moses 4). If Satan understood that receiving physical bodies required Adam and Eve to leave the Garden and enter mortality, then his temptation of Eve appears paradoxical. By persuading them to partake of the fruit, he directly enabled the Fall—an event that LDS doctrine teaches was essential for humanity to obtain bodies and progress (2 Nephi 2:22–25). This raises a theological tension: why would Satan knowingly act in a way that advances the very plan he opposed? The tension intensifies when considering the Book of Mormon’s detailed prophecies about Christ. The text explicitly describes Jesus Christ as the Son of God, born of Mary, who would suffer, be crucified, and through His atoning sacrifice overcome death and defeat the devil (e.g., 1 Nephi 11; 2 Nephi 25; Mosiah 3; Alma 7). If Satan was active among Book of Mormon peoples—as the text repeatedly portrays—and if these prophecies were publicly taught and recorded centuries before Christ’s birth, then Satan would presumably have known the specific mechanism of his defeat: the crucifixion and atonement of Christ. Yet the New Testament records Satan entering Judas (Luke 22:3) and influencing events that led directly to the crucifixion—the very act that secures his defeat (cf. Hebrews 2:14). If the Book of Mormon narrative were historically and theologically accurate, Satan would have had advance knowledge of both the identity of the Messiah and the redemptive function of the crucifixion. This presents a dilemma: why would a highly intelligent, strategic being knowingly facilitate the precise event that ensures his own ultimate defeat?

@FatherChrisVor1 Catholicism is the great & abominable whore in Revelation. Its creeds have twisted and distorted every facet and doctrine that Christ taught. Mormonism is the restoration of the truth that Rome perverted. Truly “The philosophies of men mingled with scripture.”

People ask why I’m not more “polite” with Mormons or why I don’t use their full name. There’s a strong push to drop “Mormon” and say “Church of Jesus Christ.” Words shape perception. The more you hear “Jesus Christ,” the more it feels familiar. Mormonism is not Christianity. Good people, real charity, but a different faith. I don’t want to blur that line.
