We need to talk about the term "extreme diets."
Yesterday a nutritionist called her protocol - avoiding specific carbs like bread and oats to manage IBD but allowing others - "not extreme."
It made me wonder:
Is eating the way humans did for 500k years extreme?
Or is insisting on keeping every ultra-processed "food" in the menu - despite the known health consequences - actually the extreme position?
Maybe we’ve just normalized the wrong thing.
