My father used to work in Hyderabad in 1980s as a book keeper / clerk in a private company He used to save and eat a full meal at this place once in a while He took my kids to this place a few years ago They love it The masala dosa and veg biryani at this place real yummy!

There is an old world, gentlemanly charm to restaurants such as Taj Mahal Hotel or Kamat, especially in Hyderabad which the new age hype like Ishtaa or Rameshwaram can never replicate. They greet you properly, serve chilled water without a bottle upsell and guilt tripping you for asking for regular water. Waiters are warm and super fast with service. The best part? A Thali that still tastes incredible is just ₹140.

The great Meenakshi Ammal says a big hi! A humble housewife documented hundreds of vegetarian recipes and published them in three volumes as “Samaithu Paar”, way back in 1951! After her, many others did similar books! Bengal was busy consuming dead fish that time! 😏

@sameermathad Their operational expenditures are far less than the new restaurants. Most of these old establishments are in their own buildings that are fully paid off, decor barely needs any renovation & the nostalgia that brings in repeat patrons. Hence they are able to offer at the prices.

It took 25 days after booking for the LPG cylinder to be delivered. All this while the website kept showing "1-day ETA" for 20 of those days. If the govt claims there is no shortage, why are companies taking it so long for deliveries? Are they diverting domestic stock to the black market? Now I’m supposed to wait another 35 days before booking another.

This is incorrect. The shift started in 70s with economic incentives provided by the then AP govt with lands and subsidies. ANR was the first big hero to shift his base to hyderabad and started Annapurna Studios in 1976. Ramanaidu, Padmalaya studios in 1982/83 and NTR moved his base as well with his becoming the CM. Finally with the opening of Ramoji Film City in 1996, Hyderabad was well and truly its own world class movie powerhouse with no connection to Chennai.

until 2008, almost all Telugu actors were in Chennai. Nagarjuna did his schooling in Chennai, even Allu Arjun did his schooling in Chennai. Hyderabad was no where in picture. It’s crazy of fast Hyderabad developed from 2009, and how fast Chennai got faded into history from almost the same time.

Food quality is 🤮! Bangalore has far better places that serve excellent food without all this hype and marketing. Bangalore was the first truly cosmopolitan city in the South when it came to food culture. We had a wide variety of cuisines and simple no-fuss establishments!

Apparently, that ₹4000cr budget for #Ramayana is just DNEG quoting their own retail price to themselves. It’s the billable market value (what they’d charge Marvel or Dune), not actual cash spent. They're accounting for the revenue they could have made from a Hollywood client. It’s a lousy way to manufacture hype by conflating market value with production cost. There's no way someone is spending ₹4000cr on a film when the highest ever Indian grossers like Dhurandhar haven't even touched the halfway mark of that budget. #RamayanaTeaser

This is extremely lazy AI for teaser of a 4000 cr film? I bet they will show all AI expenses that are impossible to audit - edits done on one old PC can be shown to be needing 10000 super computers. They call it cinema accounting. Such projects have been used for money laundering in past. Looks where soldiers are looking. Look at that strange weapon in Dhanurdhaari Ramji's hand. Look at that extremely artificial hill. Look at bottom right - what is that skeleton type shrub? Shadows of soldiers falling on giant hill! Dust is shown as if water color mixing. Did they make it all on mobile using @grok in 5 minutes? Colonial Ramayan of Ranbeef seems like a cover for something else.
