🗓️ 1971: The Spark of a New Nation 🇧🇩🇮🇳 Bangladesh's Independence was formally declared, triggering the brutal Liberation War. 💡 Fact: This deeply impacted India, leading to a massive influx of 10 million refugees escaping violence. 🗓️ 1942: A Political Union 👩‍❤️‍👨 Indira Gandhi, who would later become India's first and only female Prime Minister, married Feroze Gandhi. 💡 Fact: Despite the shared surname, Feroze Gandhi was not related to Mahatma Gandhi. He was born into a Parsi family, and their interfaith marriage was highly unconventional and faced public pushback during that era. #IndiraGandhi #IndianPolitics

PM Modi's speech yesterday and today, on the surface, indicates intel suggesting some serious escalation and long drawn war. And combined with signals coming from the Middle East - especially Kuwait, Saudi, and even Bahrain, everyone seems to be ready for the kill in Iran. Let's also not forget the thousands of marines of the US being rushed to Iran now. But my view is that all these are being orchestrated by the US to pressure Iran to sit down for talks or accept their temporary proposals. If Iran does accept to the proposals or agree to sit for talks by April, we must see this conflict end this week itself. If not, I am sure the US will use force. Including boots on the ground to try take some islands or secure coastal areas along Strait of Hormuz. People who believe the US will never do this are getting it wrong. But knowing Trump, I will say first he will try to end this without a fight by creating a credible threat of invasion for Iran. And PM's speech, and similar messages coming out of western capitals, and middle east countries are all conveying this credible threat to Iran. That's what the US is doing now and it's probably feeding such intel to many (including India) to show Iran that it's seriously thinking of invading along with other powers around ME and causing an escalation lasting months. This is something many in the regime know they may not survive. And would want to end it now. Trump's trying to use them.

@aravind Sir - did you get a chance to listen to PM Modi’s speech yesterday in parliament? What do you make of it? Are there going to be challenging times ahead for India in any sector?

March 25, 1971 is observed as Genocide Day. On the occasion of Genocide Day, 1 pay my deepest respect to all the martyrs. In the history of freedom-loving Bangladesh, 25 March 1971 remains one of the most disgraceful and brutal days. On that dark night, the Pakistani occupation forces carried out one of the most heinous genocides in history against the unarmed people of Bangladesh in the name of 'Operation Searchlight". They indiscriminately opened fire on teachers, intellectuals and innocent civilians at various places, including Dhaka University, Pilkhana and Rajarbāgh Police Lines, killing many people. The genocide of 25 March was a pre-planned massacre. Why this organised killing spree could not be resisted remains a matter of historical research regarding the visible role of the political leadership of that time. However, on the night of 25 March, the 8th East Bengal Regiment in Chattogram formally initiated armed resistance against the genocide by declaring 'We Revolt'. Through this resistance to genocide, the long nine-month armed Liberation War began. To convey the value and significance of independence to the present and future generations, it is essential to know about the genocide of 25 March as well. Let us all strive to honour the sacrifices of the martyrs by establishing in the state and society the spirit of the great Liberation War - equality, human dignity and social justice. Let us work together to build a just, developed, prosperous, self-reliant and democratic Bangladesh. I pray to the Almighty Allah to grant forgiveness and eternal peace to the departed souls of all the martyrs. On the occasion of Genocide Day on 25 March. I wish every success to all the programmes organised to observe the day.

Death Anniversaries & Tragic Milestones 🕊️ Remembering the prominent figures we lost on March 24: ✍️ Radhikaraman Prasad Singh (1971): Padma Bhushan awardee and a true pioneer of modern Hindi literature. Fact: He was renowned for his incredibly distinct, rhythmic prose style. 🎨 Bhau Samarth (1991): Internationally acclaimed Indian painter who left behind a rich, thought-provoking visual legacy. 🏥 Harish Rana (2026 - Today): Passed away at AIIMS after 13 years in a vegetative state. Fact: In a landmark Supreme Court judgment just days ago, he made history by becoming the first person in India to be officially granted passive euthanasia, giving him dignity in death.
