We delve into the relationship and workflows that kept this epic partnership on track at the very bleeding edge of research needs, even as the world transformed around us.
Get in touch to discuss how we can create ground-breaking opportunities by working together.
@lukas_m_ziegler@GoogleDeepMind We're excited to see what researchers will do next with New Shadow Hand! Thanks for sharing, and if you ever want to see it live, drop by our office in London :)
Not an anthropomorphic* gripper! 🪬
@shadowrobot has created a dexterous robot hand that can help researchers learn and experiment more easily.
Their client is @GoogleDeepMind , which these advanced hands can test and deploy new algorithms and apply them to robotics.
Using internal force control loops at 10 kHz, the Shadow Hand achieves precise torque control. Additionally, it is strong and fast, opening and closing in 500 milliseconds and giving a 10 N pinch with the fingertip.
Each finger features dozens of 3-DOF taxels on the middle and proximal phalanges and hundreds on the fingertip.
This is huge for researchers - all sensing data is available in real time! ⌚️
This technology is a big step forward for machine learning robots, allowing researchers to focus on developing AI software rather than on constant maintenance and hardware troubleshooting!
*anthropomorphic gripper is a robotic hand designed to mimic the human hand's shape and function, with fingers and a palm.

♻️ RT to help 1 robot find a new workplace.
⏫Features high sensitivity optical touch sensors at the fingertips.
💨All it's sensor data is high quality and high speed. And much more...
