Watched the Daily Show interview with Bao Nguyen, the director of the BTS: the Return doc on Netflix. I have seen my fair share of bad interviews throughout my career but the interviewer (Ronny Chieng) was not only unprepared, he was extremely unprofessional and clearly did not want to be doing an interview about this doc. He tried multiple times to get Bao to say something negative about his experience on the doc and didn’t ask a single serious question. I understand it’s a comedy show, but when they’ve had other non-political interviews in the past they’ve at the very least been researched, thoughtful, and respectful. This was not that. Even Daily Show fans in the comments expressed their disappointment over it. I will say that Bao handled it like an absolute pro. He did not let the interviewer off the hook. He did not fill the awkward silences. He let the bad jokes and condescending barbs land flat. I have no doubt the Netflix PR team has crossed the show off their list for a long time. I certainly would. My rec is to not give the video any additional views. And if you decide to comment, keep it firm but polite in tone. Don’t give them a reason to brush it off as “crazy fans” overreacting. It hits harder when it’s a thoughtful reproach.

My poor CIL was not aware that the 3 concert dates happened. She did have to deal with certain family, a dramatic toddler whose favorite words are stop & help in the deepest of southern accents, work & school. She was thinking the pics I was sending her was Netflix. 😂 +

If I see one more person acting like the only way BTS will be happy is if they are married with kids, I will scream where they can hear me in Japan. Not everyone wants marriage & kids. BTS may, but let's not assume. Let's just wish their paths in life be filled with happiness.

His expertise is in being a pop singer, not a mental healtcare professional. And I doubt the military social work he did specifically trained him in music therapy
