@simon13bs @JohnnyMercerUK British soldiers operating under extreme stress and IRA create riot situations. Bad decisions by young army leaders certainly. However @JOHNNYMERCERUK is correct we need balance. 400 prisoners gained early release under GFA assuming a complete and unequivocal ceasefire.

@JohnnyMercerUK Terrorists deliberately create situations so that innocent civilians are killed. The riots are started then gunmen fire at the soldiers who return fire and people are killed . The Army clearly made tragic mistakes but I doubt any soldier intended to kill innocent people.

Important to front up when Coroners have findings like that of Ballymurphy. Deeply tragic, and my heart goes out to the families. Fairness cuts both ways, and where credible new evidence exists prosecutors must examine. But we must be fair to all sides, including Veterans.
