Well the day has finally arrived after 40 years coaching to take a well earned break.
A journey that started at Walker Youth Club in 83 and terminated @Blyth_TownFC yesterday, has allowed me to work with some fantastic people/players leaving me with so many special memories 👍⚽️

Roma lost because they played shit and have a twat for a manger. The ref didn't put the ball in the net. Bad losers and a disgrace. Ban them.

This is so so worrying to see and we hope Anthony and his family are ok. This is why we believe organisations like the @LMA_Managers and the @PFA as well as the @WeAreTheFSA need to come out and condemn such behaviour in this country. Mangers comments and players behaviour encourage this and it is on a worrying rise where a serious incident or murder is just around the corner.

🗣️An end of season message from Grassroots Coach Dwayne Leighton Mackenzie
"So as the grassroots season starts to draw to an end, it’s that time where some players will look at other clubs, transfers will be made, parents will speak to their children and difficult decisions sometimes are made.
Sadly tho, sometimes some parents will make the decisions on behalf of their child for themselves which may not be in the best interests of their child.
So can I ask you to think of the following :
1. Does your child’s coach have your child’s best interests at heart?
2. Do they ensure that they're at training, and matches and prepared for all?
3. Does your child like their team mates?
4. Could you do what they do or even volunteer and step to help with another role within the team or club?
You see sadly it’s so easy to criticise what a club does wrong, but rather than criticising your club or coach why not say to them:
THANK YOU
Thank for taking 1-2 training sessions a week plus matches,
Thank you for preparing training sessions and tactics for the matches,
Thank you for rushing from work every week and taking time out for my child when you could be working extra hours and spending more time with your own child,
There are so much more thank you’s that we could give. Rather than look at the committee of a club and criticise, ask yourself could I do what they do?
Could I bring something to the table at my club, because they would love to have you ?
You see without volunteer coaches and volunteers at clubs to run them there would be more children on games consoles and mobiles. However thanks to the volunteers there’s fields and clubs packed with happy children playing the nations number 1 sport."

#Shoutout to my son, a 15 year old ref. This season he has be shouted at, sworn at by parents, coaches and players but today as he walked off the pitch he got a round of applause from the parents and even though he gave a red card today, the parents from that team said it was the correct decision. Couldn’t be prouder of him and just hope today makes him want to continue doing something he loves.
