I am so excited to announce that I have appointed Crystal Botkin, PhD, MPH, CNMT, PET, FSNMMI-TS as the new chair of the Department of Clinical Health Sciences in @sludchs @SLU_Official. 👏 One of the great privileges of serving as dean is identifying talented leaders that can serve the departments and support the implementation of our college's strategic goals. I have worked closely with Dr. Botkin during her service as interim chair. She has been a trustworthy and dedicated partner in carrying out the important work of the college in our pursuit of #faculty and #student #excellence. As interim chair, Dr. Botkin has overseen growth in several programs in the department, including #medical #sciences which had a 34% increase in enrollment during AY24/25 ‼️ Dr. Botkin and colleagues have also led the #PA #physician #assistant program through re-accreditation for 10 years. She also supported the physician assistant program during a meteoric rise in the @usnews World Report national rankings, with the physician assistant program 📈 climbing 20 spots in the rankings from the #46th program to its current ranking as the #26th ranked physician assistant program in the country @USNewsHealth. We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Botkin into the permanent chair role. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 At the heart of our mission in the @sludchs @SLU_Official is a commitment to #student #success for #every #single #learner who #walks #through #our #doors. 📊 In the past year, our college: 👩‍🎓 Welcomed 1,634 students as part of a university community of 15,334. 🎓 Conferred 490 degrees and prepared learners ready to make an impact. 📈 Achieved a 92.1% first-to-second year retention rate—including 91.4% for Pell-eligible learners, reflecting our dedication to supporting students regardless of economic circumstances. As the 4th largest college at Saint Louis University (among 13 colleges and schools), we are proud of the stories of perseverance, discovery, and success of our learners. These stories remind us of the responsibility and privilege that we have in higher education: to open doors, create pathways to social and economic mobility, and remain laser-focused on student success. This past year, 490 learners earned their degrees from our college—many the first in their families to do so. One of the greatest privileges of serving as a higher education administrator is seeing the joy and determination on the faces of our learners. 🏫 👩‍🎓 I am proud to share some of the remarkable achievements from our @sludchs community over the past year. 💡 Student Support: We awarded over $160,000 💵 in scholarships in FY25, helping students pursue their dreams with greater access and opportunity. 💡 Fundraising Growth: Bequest intentions increased from $150,000 (FY24) to $1,000,000 (FY25). ♥️ 💡 Consistency: For the third consecutive year, we realized an increase 📈 in the total number of gifts and pledges to the college. 💡 Impact: Gifts and pledges more than doubled from $502,376 (FY23) to $1,220,190 (FY24). 💰 💡 Record-Breaking Highs: In FY25, we achieved a record 56% increase in gifts and pledges, reaching an all-time high of $1,908,116. 🙌 🙌 These results reflect the commitment of our #alumni, #donors, #faculty, #staff, and #friends who believe in the #mission of our #college.
