The results of our ratification vote are in: 92% of our members voted, with 91% voting to ratify the agreement. The #ulfastrike ends tomorrow.

@YourAlberta should learn from @MBGov being forced to pay more than $19 million to @UMFA_FAUM for interfering in collective bargaining. Interference in free and fair bargaining doesn’t end well for anyone!

This is a bittersweet victory. Gov actions were harmful to UMFA members and UM students. Hopefully @HStefansonMB now recognizes the costs of continued interference and will now respect the independence of Manitoba’s universities, and workers’ rights in collective bargaining.

After interfering in our bargaining and violating our charter rights in 2016, the Manitoba Government has been ordered to pay @UMFA_FAUM and its members $19.3 Million. umfa.ca/news/204-gover…

Such tactics further harm administrative/academic relations within post-secondary institutions and do nothing to better the learning environment of students. Call out these toxic tactics!
