"NoA..." - probably the best email heading I've ever received Honored and excited to receive an F31 from NIAID!! Looking forward to studying prediction models for TB treatment outcomes with a focus on characterizing the role of HIV disease severity Now, cue my favorite GIF:

1/ THREAD Any #medlibs or other smart folks familiar with biomed lit have some time to help me with a citation question? I found a problem in a 29 March 2020 WHO scientific brief on #COVID19 related to airborne transmission and I can't pin down the citation.

Some have argued that wearing masks would make Americans look sick. News flash: whole world knows we are sick, ranking well below countries that spend far less than US on healthcare. We are not even in top ten. So let's look sick and live rather than ignore science and die.

An important reminder from @mgh_id’s @RWalensky : People have COVID-19 disease and are not “COVID-19 Positive.” We learned the hard way in the early days of #HIV that language matters and we should use it well to avoid stigma. #PeopleFirst language is key!

I have a fever and a cough, but no known #COVID19 exposure, so testing isn't recommended at this time. I'm continuing to self-isolate and will reassess if my symptoms get worse.

1 / In an ironic twist, I have been dx'd with COVID-19. So far I am doing well. It is unclear where I picked up the virus...but that is the point! It is everywhere. And we can't be too careful.
