@mraspinall I said this when in-person. Letting our kids know that we don’t have the answer all the time is important. We are all learners in this process together whether face to face or virtual. They need to know we are always growing together.

@tntowsleeAPLang @RodRobinsonRVA @HenricoSchools I agree! I think that formative assessments can provide grades if well structured but should not be used solely for grading. They are meant to inform our instruction and potentially the need for a different type of learning experience if our Ss didn’t grasp the concept or skill.

@studentssmiling @RodRobinsonRVA @HenricoSchools My point is that we don’t need that many assignments per quarter. Formative assessment is more effective if it isn’t graded. Grades are not a measure of students’ worth. Let’s respect their lives inside of school, too.

Both of these options will provide you with great information on the Ss learning and respect their lives outside of school.
