can't stop thinking about wuthering heights. it's an absolutely awful adaptation of the book which... ok let's take that out of it. its biggest crime is being BORING!!!! no chemistry between margot and jacob, alison amazing comedic relief ig, hideous costumes, good sets? i guess?

anyway controversially i think the wuthering heights hate is overblown, or at least misguided: i don’t really care that the movie has nothing to do with the book, it’s just too bad that emerald fennell has literally nothing else to say instead

what's crazy is that to me the romantic portions feel incidental to what is ultimately a book about mistreatment and subsequent revenge. catherine literally dies halfway through!

literally i don't even care if this movie is a faithful adaptation but watching a bunch of people who clearly haven't read the book act like the WHOLE THING isn't predicated on how heathcliff is visibly othered from the rest of the characters and how that impacts him is maddening
