Just in 💡: Activist #XuYan, wife of imprisoned lawyer #YuWensheng, has been released after serving a 1 year and 9 months sentence for "inciting subversion." Detained on April 13, 2023, while en route to a mtg with @EUdelChina in #Beijing, her case was not tried until Aug. 2024.

The second trial of #HumanRights #lawyer #YuWensheng, who was accused of "Inciting Subversion of State Power," was concluded at 9:30 AM on January 6 at the Suzhou Intermediate People's Court. The appeal was rejected, and the original verdict was upheld.
