@fozadoza My own is We no even dey the room because we no position ourselves as owners. If we don’t retain IP, what exactly should or will anybody collect for us? Our current structure automatically removes us from royalty and levy conversations. If we don’t own, we can’t be included.

Structure is how we can activate it. Conversation is currency. Directors in Nigeria and across Africa, we need to organise. Not for ego. For economics. This is no more a popularity contest!

This is about being recognised as an ownership class in the creative economy. If we are not building structures, we will always be contractors. In Hollywood, directors negotiate backend.They form guilds.They build companies.They sit in policy rooms.We need that level of thinking!
