In 50 years of watching #EFC I don’t think I’ve attended a more insane night, than this, 4 years ago. A chain saw massacre (a pen knife actually), Just Stop Oil, 10 men, 15 mins added time and a 99th min winner. Out the 11 that played, only Coleman & Keane are still at the club.

@FootballInT80s A painful day all round. Dominated the game with Alan Irvine having his best game for #EFC. Two big chances missed by Sharp & Heath, ambushed at Piccadilly station on way back and to top it all, the special broke down. But, 12 months later we won it.

43 years ago today: Limbs at Old Trafford as a late goal from a hobbling Frank Stapleton dumps Everton out of the Fa Cup at the QF stage and keeps Ron Atkinson’s Manchester United dreaming of Wembley.

🤔How many other one-goal wonders can you name for Everton?! Lacina Traoré, one goal and just 60 minutes on the pitch as an Everton player! OTD back in 2014, the Ivorian forward joined on loan and scored on his debut in a 3-1 FA Cup win over Swansea. He made just one more appearance as a second-half substitute in the final game of that season.

@neil_mccormick Great piece Neil. At 11 I was lucky enough to be visiting my brother in Calgary, from the UK in the summer of 79. At the height of Breakfast in America, he took me to see Supertramp outdoor concert in the MacMahon Stadium Calgary August 79. It was mind blowing for an 11 year-old.

@thereal1bert @henrywinter Since then, he's made himself look a bit of a tit tbh. The fan evenings he's done is mostly tales of him either punching someone, or threatening to punch someone, he's just glorifying thuggish behaviour + our fans lap it up. Not sure he would ever be considered for a top job now.

Duncan’s book is an absolute masterpiece from the 1st Chapter to the last. Unbelievable read with stories that grip you, from one page to the next. Also, brutal honesty on #EFC plight over the last 4 years. Superbly put together by @henrywinter Best autobiography, I’ve ever read.
