Just hear me out: has anyone ever tried to abuse libwayland as a generalized RPC mechanism? Create protocols (XML), generate bindings with a scanner, and "quack" Wayland but actually do literally anything else. I'm kind of serious it seems like a decent general IPC mechanism. (If someone has thought of this before, I'd be super curious to look at it and hear about how it worked out)
