i have been writing a windows 3.1 emulator in my spare time over the last few weeks, it emulates an 80286 cpu running in protected mode and forwards/translates win16 api calls to the native api at runtime. my first test program is working correctly - minesweeper is coming next 🙂
@rquickenden@surface Thanks Rob. So Surface Laptop 5 has the same weird Fn key that acts as both toggle and modifier? (I’ve never seen that on an external keyboard, surface built in keyboard is the only keyboard I’ve ever seen that acts like this)
@toptensoftware@surface Hiya. So been testing out your issues. I have a Fn key on my external keyboard do quite used to using it without issues (as used to it) . The main annoyance which I would agree with is the power button key.. Would rather a button on side like the Pro and Book.
@Dave_UX Thanks for your thoughts. I’m a developer so use page up/down, home, end extensively while editing and F8-F12 extensively while debugging. Fn key either enabled or disabled will be wrong mode 50% of the time.
Ok, I guess seeing something discounted on Black Friday is still a weakness of mine. Let's play with the Surface Laptop Studio ^^
Any questions, or tips?
(tosses Surface Laptop aside, grabs older, slower, but _usable_ MacBook Pro).
So disappointing.
Don't buy this machine if you plan to use its keyboard.
I just wrote a script that formats a date with a 2-digit year. It's all part of my diabolical plan to collapse the world economy in about 78 years from now.
