@dockery58 @Carsobi Exactly. Smart is the most important player on the roster outside the big 3. He’s another high IQ player that can help control games, esp on a night like tonight. He can get a stop or two in a row and swing momentum that way which no on else on the roster can do that.

Shai literally gets *wherever* he wants in this matchup. They have nothing for him. No POA defenders have a prayer and there’s minimal rim protection. Just looks so easy. Lakers literally have to send hard doubles and pray.

For all the panic about the 65-game rule (which I do think is a dumb rule), I think we're actually gonna have a remarkable number of guys narrowly reach eligibility

@BrettSiegelNBA Do you think that, given how many injuries there have been, the league will make an exception for players who fall 1 or 2 games short of the rule? I can't imagine Wemby losing the DPOY award just for playing 64 games.

Another example of why playing at least 20 minutes for the game to count is really dumb.
Edwards played 3 minutes against the Pacers before suffering a hamstring injury that sidelined him for four games.
If these 3 minutes count against him, they shouldn't impact his stats.

Correction here: Upon further review, Anthony Edwards played only 3 minutes against Indiana in the third game of his season, which means he can only finish with 64 eligible games for awards. Sitting out tonight means Edwards WILL NOT QUALIFY for MVP or All-NBA status.
