Our study uncovers a new regulatory network where RNA decay, miRNA activity, and transcriptional control converge to fine-tune legume–rhizobia symbiosis. A big collaborative effort 🇦🇷🇫🇷🇺🇸 to show how plants optimize nitrogen fixation 🌱

Accordingly, overexpressing a miR172-resistant version of NNC1 drastically reduces nodule formation. Interestingly, this also leads to higher accumulation of miR172, revealing a feedback loop between the miRNA and its target.
