@Syluson his gaze lifts, slow, slightly delayed, as if his thoughts have to travel a long distance to catch up. “…dad.” his voice is quiet, but there’s a faint grounding in the word, like it pulls him a little more back into the room. “you got here quick.”

@Syluson tonight it lingers more than usual, pulling faintly at his spine every time he breathes too deeply. he doesn’t react when the door opens, it’s only when footsteps approach, familiar and steady, that something in his awareness flickers. ( . . . )
