I think winter is pretty much upon us - a couple of inches of rain, cooler temps and the sound and smell of two stroke chainsaws. I wonder if my great grandchildren will ever know the smell of two stroke exhaust?

Just went and filled two jerry cans before I left Perth to drive home. Boy did I get some dirty looks! Probably the same fuckers that drove through home last weekend buying all our fuel and leaving nothing for the locals. At least now I can chuck a bit in the wife’s car.

Playing musical trucks this week - on my third different one so far. Tomorrow probably swapping back to the one I started in last Wednesday. “Just swap into that one” is not as quick and easy as it sounds when you have 10 days worth of food/clothing/bedding/etc to move.

So what’s the story in the Middle East today? Is Trump just doing this for shits and giggles? Does he or doesn’t he want help from the allies he has mostly insulted and pissed off since he came to office? Is the war “mostly over”? Is the US floundering around without a clue?

@FarmerTonyWhite Some contracts stipulate “no equipment over x years old” (x being a pretty small number). So if you want the work you need to buy the gear.

@hirschirsch I’m getting a little concerned that when I finish my 10 days in the truck on Friday and drive over 3hrs home - am I going to be able to get the fuel to drive my personal vehicle back to work next Wednesday so I can go deliver fuel in the truck? Time for annual leave?

Regional fuel distribution trucks can’t deliver fuel because they can’t access fuel at port. I’m not saying we have a supply problem, but it kind of feels like a supply problem.

It seems pretty friggin obvious to me that people simply don’t understand what the government is trying to tell them about the supply of fuel. Or maybe they just don’t want to know so they can complain all over social media.

It’s pretty wild the state we’ve gotten ourselves into - there’s still bulk carriers loaded with fuel arriving here that left Singapore BEFORE the war/not war kicked off. How is the system supposed to cope with a 235% rise in demand due to panic buying?
