The native languages of Bihar are Bhojpuri, Maithili, Magahi, Angika and Bajjika, spoken by millions as their mother tongue. South Indians and Western Indians should keep this in mind before lumping Bihar into a generic "Hindi belt" stereotype. Biharis embraced Hindi and gave it prominence for national unity and wider communication. And Bihar is not a North Indian state either, it is an Eastern Indian state.
