Birmingham's new Reform councillors have called for an 'English only' rule at Birmingham City Council after an Islamic prayer from the Qur'an was said during the annual mayor-making ceremony. Somehow it sparked anger. In England, all readings & proceedings should be in English.

Well, what do we have here? Two chaps bundled up like they're on an Arctic expedition, clearly freezing in the middle of a 30-degree heatwave.
Hoodies paired with high-vis jackets must really give them that sense of importance. No badges, no uniforms, no official ID just the sheer brass neck to march up and tell a woman to leave the station.

Personal trainer wins £150k payout after boss forced her to drive overnight from Germany for a meeting, then didn't even show up. Bethan Littlewood, 29, a former Team GB canoe polo star and 2019 European gold medallist, was competing at the European Canoe Polo Championships in Germany when her employer Nuffield Health in Bridgend, Wales, ordered her back for an urgent meeting. She drove through the night fearing disciplinary action, only for her boss to no-show because he was double-booked elsewhere. An employment tribunal ruled Nuffield Health’s conduct was “contemptuous and wholly unreasonable”. Littlewood had also raised safety concerns, faced bullying, unlawful wage deductions and unpaid holiday pay. The cancer survivor (diagnosed at 15) successfully claimed unfair dismissal and was awarded £149,017.
