No matter how the season ends, if Manchester United want to replace Michael Carrick, it should only be for one man Luis Enrique. Last night I noticed teams are now pressing us aggressively especially against Chelsea, and again against Brentford. That could be down to a lack of high-l intensity, running players in the squad. Anyone could argue give Carrick 4–5 more signings and he’ll improve the team and honestly, I don’t doubt that. Just look at how he’s managed Kobbie Mainoo and Casemiro so far it wasn’t working like this under Rúben Amorim. So if it’s not Luis Enrique, then Carrick should stay and we build from there and HOPE.

The stuff that a manager cannot learn, he ticks every box. If you have doubts, fix them. Add assistants to provide insight. Add players to provide solutions.

@dakpemien @utdrobbo How is it clear, when we all agreed we needed midfielder regardless of who the coach is. All we are saying is give him those material and lets see what he serves. He earned it. Qualifying us for ucl or even finishing 3rd wasn't on the card this season.

@utdrobbo Thank God the management don’t listen to people like you. What happened when we added coaches to ETH, he still failed, even with Holland in Carrick’s team, he plays pragmatic. Carrick has done the job he was hired for, now hire an elite coach and wish Carrick best of luck

🚨Hate Ruben Amorim all you want but Amorim and Carrick were given two completely different jobs.
Amorim was brought in to implement a style of play - to reset habits, build structure, and change the identity of the team.
That takes time. It also costs points in the short term, definitely.
Carrick, on the other hand, is here for six months with one clear objective: get United into the Champions League. Nothing more. Nothing less.
Short-term coaching is about maximising points.
Long-term coaching is about building something sustainable.
That’s why Carrick is collecting more points with the same players Amorim was rebuilding with.
Amorim refused to take the easy route - sitting deep and waiting for counters, playing safe, chasing quick fixes. He stuck to the process even when it hurt him.
Some fans look at the table.
Others look at the direction.
That’s the difference you don’t know as a Carrick sexual and Amorim Outer.

Premier League on the weekend.
Champions League midweek.
Another Premier League game.
Carabao Cup.
Then another league game.
Week after week.
Now imagine trying to survive that schedule playing this kind of football.
Waiting for counter-attacks.
No sustained possession.
No real structure.
Just transitions, moments and reacting.
Do people seriously think that’s sustainable at the highest level?
And the worrying part is…
It’s not even about the players anymore.
We have enough technical players to keep the ball for more than 10 seconds.
You can argue athleticism all you want, but teams like FC Barcelona, Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain dominate games because of structure and positioning.
That comes from the coach.
Even if you change the midfielders…
Even if you change the attack…
The football will still look the same.
Because this is the blueprint.
And if this is the long-term direction of Manchester United…

The only thing I’ll thank Carrick for is to leave after securing CL this season.
Carrick has reduce our performance, worsen the structure Amorim lay down. Yes we have more wins but do not lie about the rest.

Before anyone gaslights you into hating Michael Carrick or calling him “vibes,” don’t forget how low Ruben Amorim took Manchester United. Don’t forget where we were before Carrick came in, improved performances, better structure, more points, and consistent wins back to back to back. My stance is simple: if you can’t get someone clearly better than Carrick, stick with him until that option becomes available. Managers can always be replaced if things go wrong.
