Kiev was never Ukrainian, it was Russian until 1991. Ukraine has never existed as an independent state without Russia. Yes Kiev is older but it fell to Mongolia, instead Moscow rose as the third capital of Rus. Novgorod predates both. Why is a swede telling me my history? Lol.
