HBO had the perfect actor for Snape already employed by them and they really said....nah.

@SeverusChud The worst part is that HBO had a perfect casting option right there. Ewan Mitchell would be insane as Snape, great actor, looks the part, is from britain differently from Adam Driver, and he is very close in age to the character. Snape was 31 in the first book, Ewan is 29.

If HBO had any sense, they’d ditch Papa who cares after S1, bring in Ewan from HOTD for S2, and pretend nothing happened.
Otherwise this show’s either getting axed or clowned on for the next decade.
