@bethany83 @AnumQaisarJaved No I don’t know differently, but I think you’d need to have been one of the police to know what it felt like. Time will tell if we start to hear their account

Now that I’ve had some time to sleep, I’d like to reiterate what I said in my speech - regardless of how you voted, or even if you didn’t vote at all, I will stand up for the people of Airdrie and Shotts, and for Scotland. It is an honour to be elected as your MP.

@semple_in_eire It’s not a rule, it’s how I feel. I think I’m still allowed an opinion. But someone fleeing persecution and deliberately travelling through other free countries before claiming asylum is no long afraid for their life.

@visitscot Did you make that rule up yourself? Either way, it makes very little sense because the UK is an island. It is possible to travel by sea from any country in the world with a coast without passing through another country.

@visitscot @80_mcswan Why not? If they’re going to work and contribute once they’re here what’s the problem

@theSNP Nope there is not. Less people voted for separatist parties, the majority voted for remain parties.

🔎 Tory hypocrisy in full swing: David Cameron used 36.9% as a mandate for an EU referendum. Boris Johnson used 43.6% to plough ahead with Brexit during a pandemic. ✅ The SNP won 47.7% of the constituency vote - there is a clear mandate for an independence referendum. #bbcqt

@nationalismwat1 @ttilxe Answer: if they’ll vote SNP they can stay, get a house, get benefits, get health care, get a free laptop, bike, bus travel, attack our history. I think I missed a few things

Can somebody confirm if the SNPs policy is to prevent all asylum seekers from being deported now? Are we saying that if all the asylum seekers currently living in England or Wales come to Scotland they won't face deportation if they are refused asylum? Genuine question.

@Sneddon0472 @policescotland @NicolaSturgeon @HumzaYousaf Too bad. There’s a time to stand up for injustice, not meekly agree to do the work of a hard right Home Secretary and her Gauleiters. No doubt the cops will be marching in time to the sectarian songs of hate tomorrow- overseeing the destruction of Glasgow’s public realm

@Haitch7 @Aaron_UK_MEX It was the SNP MSP’s and MP’s inciting the mob and asking more to come. What can a normal citizen do to tackle this? Please don’t say vote as it’s obvious that doesn’t work

All of those applauding this should maybe consider this. If mob rule can now overturn police and state law what happens when the next mob, or the next don’t actually stand for something you align yourself with? There’s a reason laws exist

@agcolehamilton Sikhs don’t celebrate Eid. It was just a bandwagon for UK hating MP’s and MSP’s to jump on - and you got it wrong, endangering people upholding the law and carrying out their job - you nearly caused a riot. Of course with Police Scotland in your pocket nothing will happen
