@dnsimple @elixirlang The beauty of the BEAM: this isn’t an either/or decision. #Erlang and #Elixir run seamlessly together, so we can keep battle-tested Erlang while using Elixir where it makes sense. Thanks to the Erlang Ecosystem that made it possible. x.com/weppos/status/…

At @dnsimple , we have been using Erlang in production since 2014 to build and operate our authoritative name servers. This core part of our infrastructure serves hundreds of billions of DNS queries every month.

@dnsimple @elixirlang The result: a hybrid approach. - dns_erlang + erldns remain in Erlang - erldnsimple moved to Elixir Erlang handles low-level DNS parsing and resolution. Elixir gives us better tooling (especially for integration testing) and a great fit for higher-level services and HTTP APIs.

All @dnsimple name servers are now running an @elixirlang codebase. After 12+ years, we’re no longer exclusively an #erlang shop. But make no mistake: we’re still very much an Erlang shop.

I am truly excited by this new release, and I am looking forward to continuing improving the name server. If you're building services exposed to the outside world, this post has lessons that apply well beyond DNS.

We’ve added support for SVCB and HTTPS DNS records at @dnsimple. These records represent a significant evolution in DNS by helping standardise the "ALIAS" space. If you're using them or have an active use case, we'd love to hear from you.

📣 DNSimple now supports SVCB & HTTPS DNS records (types 64/65)! Unlock faster HTTPS discovery, ECH, and HTTP/3 optimization. Learn more in our latest blog post 👉 blog.dnsimple.com/2026/02/svcb-h…

Did you know that with @dnsimple you can connect to other providers, such as AWS Route53 and Azure DNS, and manage records through a unified interface? We call it the Domain Control Plane.

In the new version of @obsdmd Mermaid View plugin (0.4.0) I added support for exporting a Chart to SVG and PNG directly from Obsidian.

The plugin isn’t available in the Obsidian Community Plugins list yet. It’s currently under review. In the meantime, you can install it manually from the GitHub repository. github.com/weppos/obsidia…

The viewer supports basic controls like zoom and pan, and they work on both desktop and mobile. If you’ve ever tried to view a Mermaid chart on mobile, you already know how frustrating that experience can be.

I’m an avid note taker, and over the years I’ve tried all sorts of different apps. A couple of years ago, I landed on @obsdmd, and it’s been my go-to ever since. There’s just one thing I’ve been missing: the ability to view and edit Mermaid files directly in Obsidian.
