@whenyoulearn @LeoNYC I see your point. Our regional origin and/or linguistic background and/or heritage unites us, but labeling us all under one term may erase us or some of us...

Today was my first time being questioned about my use of the term Latinx by a man who identified as a doctor. Even though I always use the term when writing in English, he contended that it's not a term accepted by "la RAE". I didn't say "who cares". Just answered nicely

@LeoNYC @rociorana According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Hispanic and Latino are defined as an ethnicity. This allows individuals of “any race” to identify as Hispanic or Latino. Latino is an ethnic slur not racial. All forms of it whitewash indigenous heritage & ignore Black identity.

Tuesday was our very first 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗮𝘆! 69 students earned welder performance certifications, demonstrating the ability to produce welds meeting the standards of AWS D9. Congrats to these newly-certified welders for #UnLockingPotential!

Yesterday our wonderful culinary students served hot chocolate to our hard-working bus drivers. Thank you Transportation Department for all that y'all do! ❄️☕️❄️
