@TimSweeneyEpic I support enforcing existing consumer laws. Directive (EU) 2019/770 is intended to ensure consumers have remedies when deprived of purchased digital content or services. That should apply regardless of how access is lost. @Microsoft @asha_shar @XBOX

If the compromise has already been acknowledged, the next question is where the recovery process broke down. Were you able to provide transaction history, account creation details, previous recovery information, or other ownership evidence? Understanding what documentation has already been reviewed can sometimes help identify why a case isn’t moving forward.

@asha_shar Why would you buy games from the @Microsoft store / @Xbox. If your account is being hacked you will lose all you're purchased items, recovery is denied even after ownership proof confirmed. Meanwhile @Steam will give you're account back if ownership is confirmed. @asha_shar

@shanselman Glad to hear this is being worked on. Account recovery is also critical — in my case a confirmed compromise still resulted in permanent loss of digital purchases. This really needs improvement, especially in the EU.
